Prof. Joy Onyesoh is the first black and African President of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) a 105-year-old organisation and the oldest international women’s peace organisation in the world. Prof. Joy Onyesoh is an alumnus of the California Institute of Integral Studies San Francisco California, prestigious Golda Meir MASHAV Carmel international Training Center Israel and the Women’s Human Rights Institute, University of Toronto Canada. Prof. Joy is a Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. She has received several organisational and international awards for her role in promoting women’s rights and empowering women. Prof. Joy Onyesoh’s most recent award is the 2019 Female Civility Award from the First Ladies Global Institute Dallas Texas for her commitment to women’s empowerment globally.
